♦ An Easy, Delicious Way to Support Caregivers: Please support Loudoun Volunteer Caregivers on Tuesday, June 8, by eating at Tenderjacks in Leesburg. Tenderjacks will donate a portion of sales from the evening back to Caregivers! This is a wonderful win-win situation... you and the family get a fantastic meal and Loudoun's home-bound seniors get a boost. Tenderjacks is located at 506 E. Market Street.

Attention all volunteers and care receivers: Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 12, 2010. Caregivers will be holding our Volunteer Recognition Picnic at Algonkian Regional Park in Sterling and all volunteers, care receivers and their families are invited!

Busy and Active Volunteers. In the last 12 months, Caregivers' volunteers donated nearly 9,000 hours of service to help Loudoun's elderly and adults with disabilities maintain their independence and quality of life.  A 55 percent increase over the previous year!

Volunteers Are on the Move.  In the last year, Caregivers' volunteers logged nearly 75,000 miles while transporting the county's elderly and adults with disabilities to medical appointments and other important destinations. This is a 90 percent increase over last year! Thanks to all of our volunteers.

BE INVOLVED
  • Assisted transportation to medical appointments, including routine doctor's appointments, dialysis and physical therapy.
  • Friendly visits.
  • Assistance with errands and grocery shopping.
  • Help with household chores.
  • Help with daily money management.

Our volunteers provide the help that neighbors would provide their elderly or disabled neighbors in need.
